A remote and prolific Tarpon & Snook fishery

La Moskitia is a captivating remote region spanning Honduras and Nicaragua, home to vibrant indigenous tribes. Its network of lagoons, rivers, and lakes weaves through coastal communities, creating a picturesque landscape connected by water.

These rich waters are brimming with tarpon, snook, jacks, grouper, and a variety of other species. While some indigenous tribes engage in traditional netting, the expansive fishery remains largely untouched, harboring a wealth of wildlife, including playful monkeys, graceful manatees, colorful toucans, and majestic parrots.

This pristine environment not only supports thriving fish populations but also showcases the region's extraordinary biodiversity, making La Moskitia a truly unique destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

The Fishing

Exploring La Moskitia was nothing short of exhilarating. Over 20 tarpon weighed up to 150 pounds, and snook reached 40 pounds! We also learned about the incredible giant snook migration from September through December, adding excitement to our fishing adventure.

Our access to this breathtaking region is made possible by the deep connections of our Fly Fish Guanaja team, many of whom come from the area and have families who are respected community leaders.

We are honored to be invited back as the first tourists in a decade. Previously, several tarpon and snook operations thrived here, and now, the local community, including seasoned fishing guides, eagerly anticipates our return. With their wealth of knowledge and passion for the waters, the time to explore this rich fishery is now!
