Beyond the Horizon Film
In the heart of Guanaja, where the azure waters meet the struggles of daily life, Rankin Jackson's journey began as a humble security guard at Fly Fish Guanaja. Amid the chaos of hurricanes and the shadows of drug running, he discovered a path to redemption through the art of fly fishing. As he transitioned from guarding the lodge to guiding anglers, Rankin not only transformed his own life but also ignited a movement of sustainability in a community long plagued by poverty and overfishing.
The elusive permit, once a common catch, now symbolizes hope and renewal. Surrounded by the stunning flats of Cayes Cajones, Rankin's passion for fishing became a lifeline for his family and the islanders. With each cast into the pristine waters, he envisioned a brighter future—one where both the community and its precious marine resources could thrive. As the mission to explore these hidden waters unfolded, Rankin stood on the brink of adventure, ready to venture Beyond the Horizon.

For Serious Anglers Only….
"Fish that have never seen a fly"—this old cliché becomes a vivid reality at Faraway Cayes, an angler's paradise tucked away in the Caribbean. With its stunning reef and flat systems, this remote outpost is not just about the thrill of landing permit; it’s a sanctuary for serious anglers seeking unspoiled waters. Founded by Steve Brown, Fly Fish Guanaja offers a sustainable fishing experience that intertwines adventure with environmental stewardship, creating a community dedicated to preserving this unique ecosystem.
Forces of Nature
Forces of Nature by Steven Brown
As I waded through the crystal-clear waters of Guanaja, the thrill of the chase pulsed in the air. I glanced over at Noah, his fist raised in triumph, signaling yet another forbidden permit hooked at Faraway Cayes. Memories surged—his laughter echoing during our early adventures, a young angler outpacing seasoned fishermen. Watching him land that brilliant permit, its pearly white glimmering in the sunlight, reminded me of the beauty of wonder and the bond we share in this wild paradise.
